Human innate immunity against the veterinary pathogen Trypanosoma brucei brucei is
conferred by trypanosome lytic factors (TLFs), against which human-infective T. brucei
gambiense and T. brucei rhodesiense have evolved resistance. TLF-1 is a subclass of high
