thiazide diuretics inhibit, renal calcium excretion. In this review we detail the basic
mechanisms of renal calcium excretion and then explain how diuretics influence this
excretion. Finally we review how these agents can be used to alter calcium homeostasis in a
clinically efficacious manner.
